For two weeks now countless demonstrations against police brutality have been going on in Nigeria. The all over social-media shared #ENDSARS does not just stand for the by now dissolved ,,Special Anti-Robbery Squad‘‘, but for an end to the whole corrupt system. On the 20th of October 2020, president Buhari decided to silence young protestors and commanded military at the Lekki Toll Gate to shoot at peaceful attendees. The exact number of deaths and injured people is still unknown. But the Nigerian people remain strong and are still demonstrating for a better Nigeria.
Let us do the same and therefore come together on Tuesday, 27.10.2020 at 3:30 pm at the Universitätsplatz Heidelberg (university square Heidelberg) to stand in solidarity with our siblings in Nigeria! Police brutality should NEVER exist, black lives matter everywhere!
